Introduction
The Department of Business Administration at Shu-Te University was established in August 1997. Currently, the department offers a variety of programs, including a four-year day program, a four-year evening program, and two-year programs for continuing education. In alignment with government economic development policies, the department aims to develop professionals for domestic and international businesses, chain restaurants, and hotel management, as well as for entrepreneurial endeavors.
In addition to general management courses, the department offers three major modules: Financial Management, Human Resources, and Marketing & Distribution. Additionally, three specialized programs are available: Retail Service Management, Creative Entrepreneurship Management, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. These programs respond to the dual emphasis on employment and entrepreneurship in today’s economic environment, enhancing students’ competitiveness in the job market.
The curriculum also incorporates practical courses required by industry, including Dynamic Business Simulation, Business Negotiation, Social Media Management, and Advertising Creativity. To further bridge theory and practice, the department organizes lectures by industry experts and scholars, visits to international schools, summer internships from freshman to junior years, senior-year internships with major companies in Taiwan, and overseas internships in Japan, Singapore, and China. Additionally, students are encouraged to engage in exchange programs with partner schools abroad to enhance their practical experience and skills, preparing them to be highly sought-after talent in the industry.
The department’s mission is to cultivate Professional Management Talent, with the educational goal of providing students with business management skills that align seamlessly with the job market. To achieve this, the curriculum is structured around five core management courses, three specialized programs, and an elite training curriculum.

Faculty
Course Introduction
The department’s curriculum emphasizes foundational business courses while actively connecting with industry. This includes inviting experts and scholars for lectures, organizing visits to domestic and international businesses, and offering internships at both public and private companies to enhance students’ integration of theory and practice. In addition to the required courses from the College of Management and the department, since the 2007 academic year, the curriculum has been divided into modules such as Financial Management, Human Resources, Marketing & Distribution, and General Management, allowing students to select programs according to their interests.
To help students understand workplace dynamics early on, the department offers internship opportunities in their fourth year. Through hands-on experience, students gain practical knowledge by “learning through doing.” Those with outstanding internship performance may even receive pre-employment offers from companies, making the transition from graduation to employment seamless.
To boost employability, the department actively integrates certification opportunities into the curriculum, including courses on Financial Markets, Information Applications, and Accounting. With the support of faculty, students enhance their ability to earn certifications. Additionally, since 2007, the department has promoted certifications such as Retail Service and Employment Services Personnel, as well as international certifications like Project Management.
